The future that u.p. election results behold

The Uttar Pradesh elections results are an enigma. It is in the sheer scale of the victory. It is not the immediate aftermath but what the future beholds in the aftermath of election results.  The charisma of one man has become a national phenomenon. Ultimately, it was Narendra Modi  who became the immediate , remote  and final  cause of the election results.  In “Make in India”  he recreated the  “roti, kapda aur makan” imagination for the new middle classes.  The message is clear in his reluctance to allocate a single seat to a Muslim candidate in U.P. He wears his communalism like a badge of patriotism. Through demonetisation he didn t just devalue currency but rendered some older political styles ineffective. The  demonetisation drive  spoke a political language instead of a economic one.

There was a strategy behind the victory of electoral results. It did not lay merely in brewing the potent combination of patriotism and anti-poverty but treating Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, BSP leader Mayawati   and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav  as old furniture.  He blatantly   stated that old stereotypes  of ideology and   caste ideology in this age and time.
It was not just  an organisational victory but  a literal capturing of the mass imagination. This is a party who is indifferent to the Muslim even after the Gujarat riots. The society by rallying behind Mr. Modi has closed itself to wider imaginations.
