Looking at present PDS in which underprivileged are not getting their full share. Yes it can be viable option to provide subsidies in cash as it will be used by user for preferential works.Further there can be two components of subsidy fixed and variable. But problem in cash subsidies will be the chance of miss use of money and to overcome it we can link cash subsidy with other components such as education, if they send their children to school they will get cash subsidy.

no,nvr as downtrodden r always confronted with multiple probs at single moment,so they wil ignore de basic need of food nd try to gallop oder needs wich 2 r imperative..........universal pds with necessary reforms to bring out the fallacies in pds wil b right step to lessen hunger ratio in country.

The problem with the system is subsidies in form of cash cannot guarantee the misuse of funds by the end user him self. Instead he may use it for drinking, gambling leaving behind the family to starve. I expect that the present should be continued with proper checks and balances, and use of technology like vehicle tracking system those trucks carrying PDS, in order to prevent it from siphoning

the earlier scheme of giving foods was better because people could get well nourished with food.the present cash scheme may not benefit the people at the root level it has to as there is no guarantee that cash will b transferred to the needy
