now a days formal education is based on competition. so there is less scope of developing ethics in formal education.though formal education helps a bit in uplifting ethical value of human, but it basically comes from informal education, which means education from sorrounding, parent, and regular practices.

In my view ethics do depend on informal and formal education.....but ethics are learned mostly from environment around us..formal education can also help us to learn ethics but the youth who are habituated to "business" education put ethics behind themselves and live selfishly..they know ethics but they dont have courage to stick to their ideals, when facing real life tough situations.finally ethics without practice is the sole reason for the backwardness of our country

ethics is moral and it comes normally by parents or the atmosphere where we lives . so it comes by informal education rather than formal .

formal ethics can fail like an ias officer are taught lot of ethics in their training but later in thair career they get involved in scams.but informal ethics like family background society enviroment develop strong instinct in man

the formal education plays major role to decide the ethical behaviours, the role of formal is that to make the people to learn which is good or bad to choose from their surrounding,to provide a clear concept of listening and observing before learning. therefore a formalized way of learning even from our society leads to good ethical nature

Informal education, in simple terms, is an uncontrolled environment. And what we take out of it , depends on how the environment is. It is true that conditions of society may instate ethics in a person. However, it is also true that it is the society and the environment itself which teach unethical practices. And therefore, there is a need to catch the good and throw the bad. That is what the formal(controlled) education hopes to do. I agree that currently the system of formal education is rote-learning based. And this is where the change needs to come. Instead of teaching children about facts and figures, what is needed is a holistic development, which includes moral and ethical education

but sitting around four walls and pursuing bookish knowledge will never help a individual to understand ethics
