A second role for Obama
As the Obama Presidency comes to an end, the outgoing U.S. president has set in a flurry of moves to build on his legacy as he leaves the office. What he needs to do now is step into the shoes of Jimmy Carter and plays a crucial role as the unofficial leader of the opposition. Given the unpopular electoral rhetoric of Donald Trump and his willingness to act on it, the hostility of the American media towards Mr. Trump can help propel up Mr. Obama as a model for U.S. president. Mr. Obama can use his influence to guide America when Mr. Trump tries to get close to Russia, or move away from climate change and environmental protection or trump the Iran nuclear deal.
