Being inclusive of disabilites in our digital push
The recently passed Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 mandates adherence to standards of accessibility for information and communications, transportation, physical environment,including other systems and technologies and other facilities and services provided to the public in rural and urban areas. India was one of the first countries to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Ignoring people with disabilities and keeping them out of loop of social welfare activities like education, employment, health etc has its own economic implications.
