U.S. tries to prevent jobs transfer to India
The US administration has announced setting up of an institute for inculcating innovations, which will help prevent jobs going to India and China.

The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII), a public-private partnership initiative, will be based in Ohio. It has received $70 million as initial financial assistance.

Mr. Obama had announced plans to establish 15 manufacturing innovation institutes creating a network around the country that would serve as regional hubs of manufacturing excellence and help to make manufacturers more competitive and encourage investment in the U.S. For this the administration was to invest $1 billion.
President Obama had also announced launching of a pilot institute on additive manufacturing for which five federal agencies — the departments of defense, energy and commerce, the National Science Foundation, and NASA — have jointly committed to invest $45 million.

Additive manufacturing, also referred to as 3D printing, is a new way of making products and components from a digital model, and will have implications in a wide range of industries, including defence, aerospace, automotive, and metals manufacturing.
